Baggot Lane

Mews residence on Baggot Lane, Dublin.

The facade features a series of bronze, copper, brass and galzed panels arranged in an asymmetrical composition, reflecting the ecletic nature of the mixed workshops and garages that inhabit the Baggot lane. The house is on three levels with a basement formed around an open light well. The various rooms open directly onto terraces and courts at each level allowing the residents to benefit from a variety of sun-filled outdoor spaces, including a roof terrace which features a copper clad mini-cupola that overlooks the tree-lined St. Mary’s Park – providing this modest domestic building with a surprisingly grand architectural gesture.
